Really Fun Things To Do In Chicago

Looking for really fun things to do in Chicago? Chicago is an amazing city with endless things to do. Trust me, I was just there during November and I was quite surprised at the amount of things to do during this time of year. I was even more surprised at how warm I was throughout my adventure in the windy city. With that said, I want to tell you MY favorite things to do while in Chicago.

The following list is in no particular order.

Get The Coolest Shot In Chicago

On the 103rd floor of the Willis tower you will find The Ledge. The Ledge is a glass box that extends 4 feet from the building and is 1,353 feet high. This experience allows you to view Chicago from a different prospective. How is the ledge different than other Chicago rooftops and views?

Exhibit A:

Where else can you have a private breakfast overlooking Chicago sky scrapers followed by coffee with Santa? All of this while casually sitting on a glass box over a thousand feet high.

Eat, Pray & Eat Again

2. Let’s talk about food.

Chicago has some of the most delicious food ever. But one place that stood out the most to me was The Dearborn. I was with a group and we decided to try one of each appetizer on the menu. We of course also indulged in the main entree and lets not forget dessert. We got every single dessert on the menu. Crazy but … we shamelessly ate all the food.

What To Order?

For appetizer. Hands down the mussels were my absolute favorite. They were made with curry. The best sauce for mussels I have tried anywhere in the world. Not even exaggerating.

For the main entree. I got the duck. It was nice and tender and scrumptious.

For dessert. I think the donuts were my favorite. I know it sounds like such a basic item. But the Dearborn put a great spin on these. They were deeeeee-licious.

A special thank you to Sally blogger and owner of @passport&plates for allowing me to use her food photos from that evening. I was too busy eating, forgot to take photos.

A museum?

3. Wndr Museum

Okay, Let me be honest. When someone mentions the word museum, I immediately relate it to the word BOOOOORRRRING. I need to be moving and having constant activity. Soooo…. I was skeptic of this so called “Museum” but I was wrong.

The Wndr museum is known for its active art pieces that are lively! So if you are looking for fun things to do in Chicago. This should be one of your stops.

Some of my favorite pieces were the rooms where you could dance. If you are not a dancer, don’t worry you are free to do any movement you would like to. I as a dancer couldn’t help myself.

The museum itself, awaked my senses and I felt so happy. Its a bit hard to explain. Its like a natural high. Trust me, you just have to be there to experience it for yourself. As a bonus all the pieces are great photo ops!

True To The Hype

4. Millennium Park

I loved the park! There is coffee, restaurants, ice skating, crown fountain and of course Cloud Gate aka The Bean.

And although I am no ice skater. I did try it just for fun. And then, when I miserably failed I was happy to sit back and people watch. There was even a puppy ice skating with its owner. Lol Only in Chicago.

The Tilt Ride

5. 360 Experience | Tilt Ride

Over 1,000 feet high in the John Hancock building you will find TILT. Tilt is an adventurous ride for the adrenaline junkie. What exactly is Tilt?

Well best way I can explain it… Is feeling like you are going to fall. Except you are not because you are safely behind glass. Except the glass tilts. Don’t worry it’s completely safe. And if you are not about the ride then you can enjoy the 360 experience with amazing views of Chicago’s skyline and Michigan lake.

Reach For The Stars

6. Heli Ride

By far the best views are from a helicopter. There is something so magical about the aerial view of Chicago. I went during sundown so I saw the whole city light up. I got to see Lake Michigan as well. It is so beautiful, more than words can describe. I would suggest doing a sunset or sunrise tour.  I went right when the sun went down so it got dark pretty quickly. If you want a clearer view lake then go before sun down. You will truly enjoy this experience.

But America, Helicopter rides are expensive.

Yes they can be but if you have not done this experience before I do think its worth the money. Plus they have different packages available.
